"Stoopid"est thing ever? Or cute overload? You decide!I created this ring yesterday afternoon. What is it? Well... it's a Peeps lollipop ring that I dipped in resin, poured glitter all over, added some purple rhinestones for eyes, and added some green Easter grass garland. I love how it turned out. My hubby thinks it's a bit wacky... and I'll admit it... it's not for everyone- it's a BIGbold ring!
Love it? Hate it? Let me know and thanks for looking, peeps!
I've been wanting to buy something from imyourpresent's ETSY shop for soooooooo long now. I finally splurged and got her giant [phallic] ice-cream cone necklace- IN MINT! I was so delighted when it came in the mail today. I put it on right away. When I'm not wearing it it has a new home on my wall... dangling!
The Easter holiday is fast-approaching. So I've whipped up a batch of resin goodies just in time for Easter! I will be making a very limited amount of Easter items... so if you see something that you want you better grab it soon! My ETSY shop will have egg-shaped resin necklaces, resin rings, and a few other things. Here is what I currently have available for Easter... enjoy!
I made a fresh batch of ocean-inspired pendants on Friday! I plan on listing these throughout the day Monday starting at midnight tonight. They will be available in my ETSY shop. These tend to go pretty quickly- so grab them while you can!
I had this lovely idea for a little cabinet full of candy and sweets! I knew I wanted something with lime-green, rainbow colors, glitter, sweets, and a gumball machine and slice of lemon-meringue pie. I knew there was no better person to ask but RainbowMermaid! This girl is a creative and artistic genius! She sent me the photos today of the completed project and a little tear of joy creeped into my eye and I swear- my smile was ear-to-ear! I absolutely adore it! I could just stare at it forever! It's so much more than I could have ever imagined it to be!Please check out her shop on Etsy! She makes such fabulous jewelry!! I have been a huge fan of her work ever since I found ETSY.
Today is my 27th birthday! YAY! I'm so excited. I've been a hermit all winter and I am really looking forward to going out tonight with my hubby, sister, and BIL. We're going down to Detroit to one of the casinos and having dinner! I think it's going to be a fabulous night... I have a feeling I'm going to hit a biggie on the slots tonight!!! Wish me luck guys! In other news... at midnight I gave away my first PIF in my ETSY shop! I was feeling generous so I gave away a free print- your choice. I listed it right at midnight and it was gone by 12:01. CONGRATS to moongipsies for snagging my giveaway! She chose the Mint Chocolate Chip Sky print in case you're all wondering what print was chosen.
Lately I have been inspired by the color pink. I'm in this mode where I want to create pretty girly things! It's so ironic because growing up I was always a tomboy. Now that my 27th bday is approaching on the 23rd I want to feel like a little girl again and I believe that is showing up in my recent work. Here are a couple items from my shop for the pretty little girl in you!
I love all things under-the-sea! I always have and I always will. Maybe it's because I'm a pisces (born 2/23). Maybe it's because I should have been born a fish? Who knows?!? I just love creating jewelry that reflects my love for the ocean. I really put my heart and soul into these creations. Enjoy!
I just finished a custom order for one of my favorite customers on ETSY. She had this wonderful idea of embedding brass seahorses inside resin along with some real miniature seashells and those tiny little marbles for sand. She wanted them in the form of the long, skinny stick pendant. The pendant turned out beautifully. When I showed her photos of the pendant she loved it!
AND GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!!! My fish pendants are back! I started selling the fish pendants when I first started casting resin back in the fall of '07. They were a pretty popular item in my shop and for some odd reason I stopped making them. Well.... they are back! I always have so much fun making these!!
And as always... I have two different types of mermaid necklaces available: the blue one (I Wish I Was A Mermaid) and the pink one (Sea Of Love). No two are ever exactly the same. I always love putting these together during the casting. They really truly are like little works of art!
I know this is pretty unrelated to my Etsy and that is what my blog is about.... BUT I really wanted to share this video with you from our July 19th wedding at the Wynn in Las Vegas. My sister, Krystal, edited the video. Enjoy! :O) I'm also including a video of me getting ready in my hotel room before the big moment... the happiest day of my life! I smile everytime I watch these vids!
I did it! I hit 500 sales today! Woo-hoo!!! YAY! This day is just as exciting as my very first sale on ETSY which took place on 09/19/07... a couple of days after I set up my shop! I want to take this time to thank every single one of you who made this possible. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I love all you guys! 500... it's such a pretty number! Thanks again everyone and I hope you all have a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Also... THANKS to Amanda for being my 500th sale! I'm going to send you out something special!!
You knew it was coming! A sprinkles bracelet was coming your way- finally after all this time! I had created a sprinkles bracelet earlier this year that was made entirely of resin (bangle) but it was godawful uncomfortable! The molds that Sheri Haab sells on her website for bracelets are horrible! I had bought a good size from her and even with small wrists and not-so-big hands the bangles that her molds produce are horrid! Plus- the bracelet mold that Haab sells eats up a lot of resin.
SO kiddies.... I MADE THIS! Doesn't it just remind you of UFOs?!?
This is a 17.5" silver-plated bracelet that is adorned with 6- 1" REAL candy sprinkles resin gems. Each round resin gem is filled with 3 different types of sprinkles: big rainbow balls, rainbow sticks, and tiny rainbow dots. The shape of these charms reminds me of little flying saucers! These babies are full to the brim with sugary sweet rainbow goodness that is sure to satisfy your sweet-tooth!
Sprinkle it in dew Cover it in chocolate and a miracle or two? The candyman The candyman can The candyman can cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good
Wow... this necklace is so Willy-Wonka to me! It reminds me of the candyshop in the beginning of the movie for some odd reason! Anyway... this was an idea I had in mind for awhile and I finally gave it a try and it turned out absolutely adorable! It's like having a little jar of candy around your neck! So sweet! The pendant consists of a tiny glass bottle that I filled up with oodles and oodles of REAL rainbow candy sprinkles! The sprinkles are sealed inside the bottle with resin and the cap of the bottle is also sealed with resin so it will not open up. I just love how this turned out!!! So frickin' cute!
So I've had my eye on the FatDaddyBakeShop ever since I found out about Etsy. I ordered two of her cupcakes one week ago and they came today. I felt like a little girl on Xmas morning when the mailman came up to my door and hand-delivered my box of goodies. I ordered the Red Velvet Revolution for myself and the PMS Cupcake AKA Chocolate Overload for my hubby Joe. We tore into them right away... didn't waste any time! It was delicious!!! Then I popped mine in the microwave for 7 seconds to melt the frosting a little and OMG- it was sweet heaven in a jar! My sweet-tooth was gleaming with joy! I'll be back for more- that is for sure! I can't recommend these enough! DIG IN!
I posted a brand spankin' new item in my Etsy shop today!! The Sugar Coma bracelet! I totally love how this turned out!
Sugar Coma It just doesn't get any sweeter than this: skulls, rainbow, glitter, AND sweets! Oh my! This bracelet has it all! This is a 17.5" silver-plated bracelet that is adorned with 6- 1" rainbow resin gems with skulls and sweets. Each round resin gem is filled with glitter: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. There are 3 skulls which alternate with a donut, ice-cream, and a lollipop. This bracelet is sinfully sweet!
Also... Candi (my mannequin head) came UPS yesterday! Here she is Mr.T-style with my resin bling!
One of my ETSY friends has the coolest last name- COCK. So she wanted one of my conversation-hearts customized with her awesome last name! How cool is that?!?! I love it.... it's cockalicious! I had a blast making this one.
I caved in today and finally bought this mannequin I have been eyeing for days! I found her on Ebay and instantly fell in love with her! I can't wait to use her in my photos! I even gave her a name already- Candi.I'm also hoping to sell this summer at a couple of shows so I'm starting to buy things that I can use to jazz up my display. I want to have a badass table.... one that you will just have to go to! More pix to come of Candi after I get her in the mail.
I love this necklace named Fifi that I found in imyourpresent's Etsy shop late last night. I love chinese-crested dogs so I think this adorable little pooch necklace is just the sweetest thing. imyourpresent has a lot of other fab items in her shop and they seem to sell out fast. I wonder if she does custom orders? I would love to have a necklace like this with my pekingese, Bianca, inside.... maybe with mint-green or pink lace around the edges??
As I always say- I love custom orders! I just love making them. They break me out of my mold and force me to do something new. They can be stressful at times but I always get the job done in a timely matter and I always make sure my customers love them! So far so good!
I just finished these two orders and absolutely love how they turned out!
Hi... my name is Kim Ripley (formerly Sobanski). I am 29 years young and I am from Mount Clemens, MI. My passion lies in art, photography, and creating jewelry. I graduated from Wayne State University in Dec. 2005 with a BFA in photography. I would have to say that I have been an artist my entire life. I think I was born with a crayon in my hand.
When I am not busy creating I enjoy other things. I love thrift stores, antique shops, and yard sales. I have always got my eyes open for strange, tacky, and kitschy things. I am also obsessed with searching out Ebay and Etsy for neato finds!
Which leads me to my next interest- found objects. I collect found items (photos, letters, shopping lists, etc.). I am a huge fan of Found magazine and I even have a 2-page spread of photos and a letter in Dirty Found #2!!
I am currently married to the love of my life~ Joe (we've been together since Nov '99). We have a daughter, Chloe Pearl, who was born in December 2009. We also have one min-pin dog named JoJo.
We hope to make it out to Vegas someday and get out of Michigan.
