Hello readers!!! Happy Saturdy! I hope you're all enjoying the spring weather!!! Wheeee!!!
Just a quick update this weekend from me...

This past week I started spending a lot more time on it. I even had one of my old friends, Smiley, find me! I've been searching for this girl for years now!! I'm so glad we're back in touch.

Hello dolly!!! I got this lovely new doll in the mail earlier this week and I named her Pearl.

NEW Ice Ice Baby necklace in the shop!

I don't often get a chance to keep any necklaces for myself but when I was making this Skull Candy necklace I fell in love with it instantly!!! It's a keeper!! ☠

TheLuluBean sent me these awesome DAVID LACHAPELLE (my favorite photographer) postcards
and I just got them in the mail!!

My awesome sister Krystal put this crocheted banana split in her Etsy shop and I can't even tell you how many times I looked at it! I was soooooo tempted to order it and I shouldn't have hesitated. It sold. I will have to commission her to make me one!

Mmmm!~ I got this amazing soap (banana buttercream OMG!) this week from CozyMoments on Etsy. It was my first purchase from her shop and I'm so thrilled with everything I ordered. I also ordered a White Chocolate Macadamia Nut soap and a bar of banana soap. I just want to gobble it up!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! I found out today that I'm on another Jones Soda bottle!!! One of my Etsy customers that was inquiring about a custom order had a feeling it was me on her Bohemian Raspberry bottle and sure enough.... it is me!! I'm so surprised about it because I was on a rootbeer bottle awhile ago and Jones notified me about it and sent me some labels. I had no idea I was on another one. I'm really happy about this!!! The cool thing is~ I LOVE RASPBERRY!!! What an awesome flavor to be on. Sad thing is~ the pic I submitted was in color and it got printed in black and white. Oh well.... I shouldn't complain I suppose!

...when you can't stop thinking about it. My mom recommended this movie to me- The Boy In The Striped Pajamas. I must admit that I was pretty skeptical at first because I'm not too into history. The movie is about a young boy who is 8 years old and his father runs a concentration camp. When he is forced into moving he is faced with solitude and loneliness. One day he goes out exploring and he finds a young boy, who is his age, on the other side of the fence. I won't tell anymore... just watch this movie. If you enjoy watching movies that will choke you up and make you want to cry you will enjoy this film.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a total hermit. I wasn't always this way but because of some anxiety and health issues this is what I have become. I don't mind it so much really. I love my home and I love being in it and I'm fortunate enough to work full-time from my home!
So here you go~ an inside look at the places in my home where I spend a great deal of my time. I'm sharing photos of two rooms inside my home... one is my "office"/workroom and the other is my laundry room/resin lab!

I may be a hermit but I'm not totally alone all day! I have my two babies.... JoJo an 8 year-old min-pin and my 14 year-old pekingese Bianca! I seriously do not know what I would do without them. They really do keep me company while my hubby is away at work!

Back in the fall of last year I discovered a book on Flickr titled WRECK THIS JOURNAL by Keri Smith. So I headed over to Amazon and ordered one for $10. And let me tell you.... this was maybe the best ten bucks I ever spent! I had the time of my life "wrecking" mine. I feel guilty though because I was on a roll with it for awhile... doing pages every day... and then I just quit. I really would like to pick my book up and finish it soon. I am hoping that now that spring is around the corner I will be inspired to complete all of the tasks inside. Once I finish the book I might even want to start a new one and try out some different things in it.

Earlier this week I was working on something that is fairly new to me. I'm trying to change up my style a bit and come up with some fresh designs. I love creating these painted cameos with vintage imagery inside! They're so much fun to make and I really love blinging them up! I stumbled across animoto about a year ago. It's a neat little place where you can create short little videos for whatever reason. I use animoto to make videos promoting the items I have in my Etsy shop. Here's a sample of what you can create:

You can create a video for FREE or you can pay $3 for a video or $30 for an all year pass. The free videos have a 30 second time limit and with the pay videos you can create a full-length video. I stick with the free ones for now but I'm thinking I might try out the $3 one someday. Pricing info here.

Ok.... it's been awhile since I last did a blog entry. Well actually, it's been a really really looooooooong time. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things and do some regular updates here. So here it goes...

What's new with me you might be wondering? Today I cut my own bangs. I call it "the economy sucks haircut"

On the 23rd I turned 28. I celebrated the following day with my family, Joe, and my best friend Dan. We went to my favorite restaurant~ Fishbones and had the most amazing SUSHI dinner EVER!! My mom made me this hideous card using my old yearbook photos and one nasty wedding photo where I was shitfaced~ lol!

I recently got into collecting dolls. Bradley dolls to be more specific. I've been lonely lately. I'm such a freakin' hermit. These dolls provide some excellent company! I keep them on my desktop where my computer is. They're really starting to take over! My mom had one of these dolls when I was a little girl. Hers had a big blue fluffy dress. I remember running my fingers over her smooth tightly tied back hair and I remember the big huge eyes! My growing dolly collection resurfaced these old memories.

I've also been working on some things that are new to me. I am totally addicted to gluing down little miniatures into these cabinets that I paint and glitter up. They take me about two days to complete from start to finish. I love putting them together. It's like putting together pieces of a puzzle.

Still doing the resin thing.... and lots of it! I make fresh batches at lease a couple times a week.... keeping the Etsy shop full. ;o) Here are a few of my favorite pieces that I've recently made:

Oh... I also made a few resin soapdishes! I keep getting a lot of requests for these and I'm sorry I haven't stocked my Etsy with any of them *yet*. I'm going to try to get my ass in gear and add a few soon.

Oh! Almost forgot!!! I have my photos in a CD insert for Madlib... the Beat Konducta album. It's available at Stone's Throw Records. My Detroit photos were discovered on Flickr. I'm pretty excited about this. It's the first time my images have been used for a CD.

This morning I woke up and read a convo by ETSY seller and Flickr-whore BOOPSIEDAISY. She ordered a Triple-Sweet ring from me a few weeks ago and just received it. Me, being her number one fan, had to create something *extra* special for her... so I made her a custom Boopsie necklace. I'm so glad she loves it and I'm so honored that she ordered some of my resin bling. I'm pretty sure I pissed myself with excitement when I saw the order from her too! Haha! I just jumped on the Guitar Hero bandwagon last night. I played the game for the first time at my sister's place and it's going to be my new addiction! Me and Joe (my hubby) played for hours! We were unstoppable... we could not stop rocking out! Joe's bday is coming up on the 5th and I'm pretty sure that's going to be his bday gift... just don't know if I want to get it for our Wii or our PS3. Decisions decisions... Hell... maybe we should just go all out and get Rock Band. Mmm... I love playing the drums. bang bang!

Speaking of "bang bang"... I cut my hair over the weekend. Woo! I've had the same hairstyle since junior-high. It was time for a change and I'm loving it.

ETSY shop SaintChicago has the coolest floor pillow I've ever seen. A BIG GIANT donut with frosting and sprinkles! Mmmmmm! I would just love to have that green one for my living room. I do a lot of sitting on the floor when I watch TV and my bony ass could definitely use the comfort that this donut could provide. For $55 this pillow is a steal! I hope to own one someday.

I just released a new necklace in my ETSY shop today... Lucy In The Sky With Cupcakes!! Lately I'm all about dangling things off my pendants. :O) I love the thought of adding some sort of extra element to my necklaces... gluing things on too (like I did with my All Dolled Up necklace).

I've been brainstorming all sorts of new ideas the past week. I had a bit of a slow week in my shop which was sort of a good thing... I needed a short break- desperately!
So be on the lookout for plenty of new bling... and I'll let you all in on a little secret... lots of new molds have been ordered... which means- new shapes! Yay!

"Stoopid"est thing ever? Or cute overload? You decide! I created this ring yesterday afternoon. What is it? Well... it's a Peeps lollipop ring that I dipped in resin, poured glitter all over, added some purple rhinestones for eyes, and added some green Easter grass garland. I love how it turned out. My hubby thinks it's a bit wacky... and I'll admit it... it's not for everyone- it's a BIG bold ring!

I had this lovely idea for a little cabinet full of candy and sweets! I knew I wanted something with lime-green, rainbow colors, glitter, sweets, and a gumball machine and slice of lemon-meringue pie. I knew there was no better person to ask but RainbowMermaid! This girl is a creative and artistic genius! She sent me the photos today of the completed project and a little tear of joy creeped into my eye and I swear- my smile was ear-to-ear! Today is my 27th birthday!
YAY! I'm so excited. I've been a hermit all winter and I am really looking forward to going out tonight with my hubby, sister, and BIL. We're going down to Detroit to one of the casinos and having dinner! I think it's going to be a fabulous night... I have a feeling I'm going to hit a biggie on the slots tonight!!! Wish me luck guys!

I love all things under-the-sea! I always have and I always will. Maybe it's because I'm a pisces (born 2/23). Maybe it's because I should have been born a fish? Who knows?!? I just love creating jewelry that reflects my love for the ocean. I really put my heart and soul into these creations. Enjoy!

I just finished a custom order for one of my favorite customers on ETSY. She had this wonderful idea of embedding brass seahorses inside resin along with some real miniature seashells and those tiny little marbles for sand. She wanted them in the form of the long, skinny stick pendant. The pendant turned out beautifully. When I showed her photos of the pendant she loved it!

AND GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!!! My fish pendants are back! I started selling the fish pendants when I first started casting resin back in the fall of '07. They were a pretty popular item in my shop and for some odd reason I stopped making them. Well.... they are back! I always have so much fun making these!!

And as always... I have two different types of mermaid necklaces available: the blue one (I Wish I Was A Mermaid) and the pink one (Sea Of Love). No two are ever exactly the same. I always love putting these together during the casting. They really truly are like little works of art!

Unidentified Flying Sprinkles - oh my!

You knew it was coming! A sprinkles bracelet was coming your way- finally after all this time! I had created a sprinkles bracelet earlier this year that was made entirely of resin (bangle) but it was godawful uncomfortable! The molds that Sheri Haab sells on her website for bracelets are horrible! I had bought a good size from her and even with small wrists and not-so-big hands the bangles that her molds produce are horrid! Plus- the bracelet mold that Haab sells eats up a lot of resin.

SO kiddies.... I MADE THIS! Doesn't it just remind you of UFOs?!?

This is a 17.5" silver-plated bracelet that is adorned with 6- 1" REAL candy sprinkles resin gems. Each round resin gem is filled with 3 different types of sprinkles: big rainbow balls, rainbow sticks, and tiny rainbow dots. The shape of these charms reminds me of little flying saucers! These babies are full to the brim with sugary sweet rainbow goodness that is sure to satisfy your sweet-tooth!

Wow... this necklace is so Willy-Wonka to me! It reminds me of the candyshop in the beginning of the movie for some odd reason! Anyway... this was an idea I had in mind for awhile and I finally gave it a try and it turned out absolutely adorable! It's like having a little jar of candy around your neck! So sweet! The pendant consists of a tiny glass bottle that I filled up with oodles and oodles of REAL rainbow candy sprinkles! The sprinkles are sealed inside the bottle with resin and the cap of the bottle is also sealed with resin so it will not open up. I just love how this turned out!!! So frickin' cute!

So I've had my eye on the FatDaddyBakeShop ever since I found out about Etsy. I ordered two of her cupcakes one week ago and they came today. I felt like a little girl on Xmas morning when the mailman came up to my door and hand-delivered my box of goodies. I ordered the Red Velvet Revolution for myself and the PMS Cupcake AKA Chocolate Overload for my hubby Joe. We tore into them right away... didn't waste any time! It was delicious!!! Then I popped mine in the microwave for 7 seconds to melt the frosting a little and OMG- it was sweet heaven in a jar! My sweet-tooth was gleaming with joy!
I'll be back for more- that is for sure! I can't recommend these enough! DIG IN!

I love this necklace named Fifi that I found in imyourpresent's Etsy shop late last night. I love chinese-crested dogs so I think this adorable little pooch necklace is just the sweetest thing. imyourpresent has a lot of other fab items in her shop and they seem to sell out fast. I started selling in mid-September on Etsy. Still remember that first sale like it was yesterday!! I just checked my hearts today and then I felt the love! 2474 hearts in such a short period of time! WOW! I love each and every one of those hearts too! I can't thank you enough for supporting what I do!! Thank you so much!

Wow!
So 2007 turned out to be a pretty awesome year!! The best ever in my 26 years.

I got married to Joe in Las Vegas, quit my shitty job at Sears Portrait, learned some new crafts, and opened up my Etsy shop in the fall. Life is good! The year started off rather slow and miserable and ended with a *BANG*!!

I have come a long way this year. I am now a wife and also a fulltime working artist. All this change has been so good for me... I am so happy to be alive! :O)

For 2008 I've got some somewhat big plans. I hope to continue running a successful Etsy shop but I want it to be so much more! I want it to be bigger and better in 2008. I plan on learning some new crafts like button-making and polymer clay... and who knows what else?!?! I'm always learning new things. I also want to expand on my resin jewelry-making. I want to make sure my stuff really stands out and I want to experiment with different techniques.

I also can't wait until it gets nice out again. I'm dting to bust out my Holga camera and get some new prints into my shop. I'm so uninspired with photography in the winter season. I'll be back to my shutterbug ways come spring!

Can't wait until the big ball drops tonight! I've got a good feeling that 2008 is going to be great!

Today's ETSY Item of the Day is another print! This print, Jenna, is the next print on my wishlist and it comes from the ETSY shop of PaperThinDesign. The description of this print reads, "The world would be a better place if everyone screamed for ice cream." Wow... I couldn't agree more with that statement! Me and my hubby, Joe, are huge fans of ice-cream. When we first started dating we used to go to Big Boys and order huge ice-cream sundaes and spoonfeed it to each other- it was so cute! Jenna brings back so many of those fond memories for me!! Gotta love that little ice-cream dude in the frame on the wall too! That cracks me up!!

Winter Eyes

I hate winter... but I am really loving this new fine-art photo pendant necklace that I just added to my ETSY shop! The pendant features a macro (close-up) photograph of my blue eye. The photo is sealed with resin in an oxidized silver bezel frame. I also dropped 3 tiny Swarovski crystals onto it to enhance its iciness.
